Wow- where does the time go? Summer is on it's way. I know that some of your kids are already out of school. Mine have 3 more days and then I can stop setting an alarm to wake me up at 6:00 AM every single day. I really can't wait. After a school year packed with fun, this mama is ready for some down time.
Ruger rocks at down time.
Of course, there is no real rest time for a freelancer, so I spent three days last week playing the piano at the Regional Dance America Festival right here in little old Erie, Pennsylvania.
Lots of little bunheads (ballerinas) came from all over the northeast to meet new friends, new teachers, new musicians while they learned more about dancing. It was a blast!
One of the teachers said something that I immediately wanted to share with all of you. He was talking about ballet technique, but I really felt like he could have been talking about life.
It went something like this...
"Don't cheat your way to success.
It's better to try every single day to do it right and fail.
Because eventually you'll learn to do it right.
If you cheat yourself, you'll never have true success."
Can I get an Amen?
And let's see, what could this apply to in my life?
(So maybe a 30 minute run isn't the same as the 45 minute run that was scheduled?)
(Just one little hot fudge sundae couldn't get in the way of my goals, right?)
(It would appear that nobody else is stepping up to be the mom around here,
I guess it will have to be me.)
