Forget Skinny, Let's Get Strong!

Hey there loves!

I thought I'd let you in on what I've been doing fitness-wise this summer.  If you follow me on Facebook or Instagram, you probably already know.


It's a weight-lifting program that she is sharing with anyone who wants it.  And here's the cool part- she's doing the program right along with us and posting about it on her social media channels!

She's giving us the program 2 weeks at a time.  We are in week 9  of 12 right now.  She's also posting videos like this one for each workout...

This is a muscle building program and it is no joke!  This is the longest I have worked at building muscle in my life.  I am really enjoying the progress that is pretty easy to feel when weight lifting is involved. (When one needs to pick up heavier weights it's hard to deny that something is happening)

I even bought a weight bench from an ad on Craigslist...


I was so excited.  It was $40 and this thing is like new.  The bench can incline and decline which has been helpful.  (Last week was the first time I've done a Decline DB Chest Press.  My chest & arms were crying!)

Jamie has decided that she is going to build muscle for all 12 weeks of the program and then do Phase 3 of her Live Fit Trainer.  When I did the LiveFit trainer, I quit in phase 3.  I was training for a half marathon at the time and just could not do both without risking injury.  This time, I'm following the plan just as Jamie lays it out.  I am not doing any distance running this year.  I am focusing on sprints & I'm racing nothing longer than a 5K.

I'm not saying I'll never run the 13.1 again, I do love that distance, but right now it's not in line with my goals.
