Happy New Year friends! I hope 2015 is off to a good start for all of you.
We are staying inside right now because it seems like we're in a Polar Vortex. (but here in the Great Lakes Region we just call it Winter) This weekend the girls start Cross-Country Skiing, but in the meantime this cold weather just shouts KNITTING at me.
It's a crazy truth about myself that when cold weather hits I don't think "I should get a hat". No friends, instead I think "I should knit a hat." Takes a little longer, but I don't have to go to the mall.
I started on New Year's Eve by knitting Mandy a hat.
I started and finished this hat on December 31st. I love the idea of finishing a project just as the year ends. I like it better if I can knock out the whole thing in one evening. A small project and big chunky yarn made this little hat for my littlest girl possible.
The knitwear models around here are silly.
I started 2015 by casting on another, similar hat for Katie. She is particular and will only wear warm hats that fit snugly over her ears with no annoying pulling. So I knitted a little extra on this one just in case.
See? Ears snugly covered. And y'know, it's important to hydrate in winter.
So there it is, the last project of 2014 and the first one of 2015 specially designed
to keep my girlies warm in the winter.
It's a good thing they're smart as well as cute because
I don't think they're taking their modeling careers seriously.
