Ending 2014 with some Tools for Success!

**this post contains affiliate links**
Happy New Year's Eve everyone!

I really hope 2014 has been a great year for you.  It has certainly had it's highs and lows for my family, but as long as we're safe, healthy and together as it closes I'm going to call that a win.

I'm not waiting for January 1st to get back into my healthy groove.  I started Shaun T's INSANITY MAX:30 last week.  I can honestly tell you that this workout is appropriately named.  It has pushed me directly to my max and friends, it is INSANE!

I've decided to be okay with the fact that I never want to run high mileage in January.  I used to fight this and force myself to do it but I'm not doing that this year.  I've committed to doing Insanity and if I feel like running I'll go ahead and do that.  The urge to run always comes back eventually and I can wait.

This week I also returned to my favorite way of eating.  I'm following the plan out lined in Haylie Pomroy's book  The Fast Metabolism Diet: Eat More Food and Lose More Weight.  This plan features delicious, real food and I have eaten way too many food-like products over Christmas break. Haylie's plan always gets me back in line.  If you're looking for an eating plan to take you into 2015 I highly recommend it.

This is my favorite FMD turkey chili
The only difficult thing about the Fast Metabolism plan is that it requires some pre-planning.  You won't find the foods on this plan coming out of a drive-thru window.

But! I did find a wonderful product that makes breakfast a little easier.
Country Choice Organic Quick Cook Steel Cut Instant Oatmeal tastes like it's been on your stove all morning.  The only problem I'm having here is that Mandy found my stash and she's eating my oatmeal.

She eats my clementines too.  I guess that's a good thing, right?

What are some of your favorite tools for healthy living?
