"The absence of feeling bad isn't enough to make you happy;
you must strive to find sources of feeling good."
This is the sentence that stopped me in my tracks yesterday as I was reading Gretchen Rubin's book,
The Happiness Project: Or, Why I Spent a Year Trying to Sing in the Morning, Clean My Closets, Fight Right, Read Aristotle, and Generally Have More Fun.
So in order to be truly happy we MUST make time for the things that bring us joy.
Today I got up early and made time for exercise. I am making time later to go to the grocery store and get ingredients for Katie's favorite chili because she requested it in her lunch tomorrow (and I love to make it). I'm making time to play the piano later- not work related music- just the songs that make my heart sing.
Right now I'm taking a few moments to write to you because I love to connect with you
and I feel that it's important.
How are you making time for happiness today?
