A Weekend of Simple Happiness

Hey there friends... it's Monday morning.

How are you doing?  Are you someone who gets the Monday blues?
I'm one of those weirdos who actually like Mondays.  I feel like it has a lot of potential.  The week could go in any direction and today is the day we start.

I told you in this post about the book I'm loving. Gretchen Rubin's The Happiness Project.

I'm generally a fast reader.  But I'm finding myself taking my time with this book.
I read a chapter and then take it in and see how the concepts apply to my life.

Most recently I've been reading about the importance of fun and identifying the things that I really enjoy.  I can honestly tell you that this weekend has been overflowing with the things I find fun.

Saturday started with a solo run.
For the longest time, I felt like I should be one of those people who runs in a pack of like-minded women.
These days I'm admitting to myself that my solo runs are really important to me.
I like to let my mind wander.

Katie played her French Horn in a band concert this weekend.  Of course we went to support her and I got to sit by Mandy- one of my favorite people to enjoy a concert with.

After the music, we collected Katie and brought her home with us.

Those smiles make me happy.

My nephew came over later (one of my other favorite kids) and we ordered our favorite pizza.

The we settled in for a movie and I worked on sock #2 of this pair.

Running, music, pizza, & knitting- all in good company.
I think these are a few of my favorite things.

How did you enjoy your weekend?
