It's Good for Skiing!

Hello friends!

Is it cold outside in your neighborhood?  The digital thermometer here at my desk says -2.  Sounds like a good night to stay inside in my pajama pants and do some knitting!

Since most of the country is in a deep freeze, I thought I'd tell you that our favorite winter sport has begun again. Katie & Mandy are Cross-Country Skiing with their group once again.  They had their first lesson on Saturday and as usual, they were happy when they returned.

I got a couple of shots of the girls right before they headed out for their ski.

Mandy looked all enthusiastic while getting ready to roll.

And she looked like this when she got back.

Saturday nights during ski season tend to be quiet at our house.  Everyone is exhausted.

We went into the Lodge and enjoyed our first bowls of Lodge chili for this winter.  
It's really a toss up whether we like the skiing or the chili more.

We fed Mandy and she recovered quickly.

While Ken & the girls skied all over creation, I did some snowshoeing with my friend Louise.  
We were mostly fearless, but we did turn back when we got to the top of a hill marked 
"extremely difficult- use caution".  There's just no need for that.

What's your favorite winter activity?

My January fitness goal is to hit the yoga mat every day.  
So far, so good.  Here's what my week looked like:

20 minute yoga from
1 mile walk with the puppy

30 Minute Run
