Ugly Talk & Menu Planning

Hey friends!

I have a little confessing to do here today.

One of my responsibilities as a 1st Step Pro-Wellness Ambassador is to provide a photo of myself for use on their facebook page.  I should have already done this, but I've been procrastinating.  Finally, I got my hair cut & colored and decided to just get a picture already.

Katie took some pics of me yesterday morning and wouldn't you know, 
that ugly voice in my head starting shouting.  I've heard it before. 

When I saw this picture it said, 
"Sure you lost weight, but look- your hips are still wide."

When I saw this picture it said, 
"You don't really sink down into Warrior far enough.  
Other people have more flexibility."

This one prompted "You look a little old."

I hate this voice.  Every time I think I have it kicked, I hear it again.
I'm strong, I'm healthy and I have much to be grateful for.  If I heard my girls saying these things about themselves I'd tell them how wrong they are.  

But there it is- my insecurities still exist even though I regularly show you guys 
pictures that aren't very flattering.

I need to treat myself with a little more compassion & kindness and I'm learning.

I'll get out of my own way and send a picture.  I think it will be the third one.  
Do I look a little old? I don't know... the truth is that I'm 40 and that's just fine.  
I may have looked younger once, but I've never felt healthier.  Time moves on and so will I.

Monday: Grilled Chicken with Veggies
Tuesday: Leftovers packed up for eating at the Swim Meet
Wednesday: Grilled Steak Kabobs
Thursday: Grilled Salmon with Grilled Veggies
Friday: Homemade Pizza & Salad
Saturday: Steak burgers
