WIAW Plus a Beagle at the Beach and Yoga

Happy Wednesday everyone!

First I have to tell you that yesterday was an amazing day.
I started by taking Ruger (who woke up with way too much energy) 
on a 3 mile run at Presque Isle State Park.

A tired beagle is a good beagle.

After the run we took some time to enjoy the beach.

Gorgeous, right?

Ruger smiled the whole time.

When we got home, the puppy needed a bath.  He was smelling pretty dog-gy.

Then he rested in the sunshine on the back deck while I did another workout from The Ultimate Yogi.  I'll have a full post about this program later this week.  For now, let me just say that I'm hooked.

Today's workout was called Yin Yoga and it focused on holding stretches for a long time.  I think that my tight, inflexible hips may have finally met their match.

So now, it's on to some What I Ate Wednesday fun!

I'm on Week 4 of  The Fast Metabolism Diet.  
These 28 days have actually gone by pretty quickly.
Maybe that's because they've been full of good food.  
My new favorite thing is Cashew Butter.  I can't get enough of it.


I also can't get enough of Phase 3 dinners that look like this.
Minute steak, broccoli and oven-baked sweet potato fries. Yum!

I am also addicted to the turkey chili recipe that's in the book.  
I prepped all the ingredients the night before...
...and even measured all the seasonings and put them on the onions.  
Everything goes in the crockpot first thing Monday morning.


At the last minute I decided that these red peppers needed to go in there too, 
so I ended up chopping on Monday anyway.  It's okay- I love chopping veggies.

I add in the beans & organic tomato soup and everything gets happy together.

I love the way the house smells while this is cooking.
