My Summer of Simplicity plus the Week in Review

Happy Saturday everyone!

I have to tell you that this was a looong week.  I'm so happy to see the weekend arrive.
Even Ruger has had it.

On Wednesday afternoon I had heard about enough negativity to last me a long time. 
I couldn't believe my eyes when I looked at my yoga schedule & discovered that Detox was the name of Wednesday's workout.

This was truly just what the yogi ordered.  Lots of twisting and turning left me feeling like I had squeezed all the clutter out of my brain.  I returned to my family feeling more like myself.  

Sometimes that hour on the mat isn't selfish at all.  I take an hour & I have more to give.

The whole experience got me thinking about the other clutter in my life.  I'm determined to leave it all behind this summer.  I'm boxing up old books & clothes that haven't been used in a long time.  They're going to be donated and I hope someone really enjoys them.

I left a facebook group yesterday.  
I decided that the particular barrage of negative commenting in that group was clutter- 
so it's gone.  I'm on a detox.

I'm even detoxing a lot of our food.  I'm reading The Great American Detox Diet by Alex Jameison and I'm examining the effect that chemicals have in our diet.  I'm learning.

I'm dubbing this- The Summer of Simplicity and I hope you'll join me.  I'm committed to keeping it simple- simple food that remembers where it came from.  Simple fun for me & the ones I love.

I realized that this week got completely away from me and I hadn't even showed you any food pictures.  I actually forgot What I Ate Wednesday.  I'm so sorry.  Let me make it up to you.

Here's the chili I threw it the crockpot yesterday morning.  
I sneak more veggies in there than my family realizes. 

Even in the midst of the crazy, I did keep up with most of my workouts.  
Here's how the week shaped up:

Sunday: The Ultimate Yogi- CrossTrain

Monday: The Ultimate Yogi- Cardio
30 min. run on my treadmill. (I threw some speedwork in there)

Tuesday: UY- Strength & HardCORE

Wednesday: UY- Detox (see above)

Thursday: UY- Yin (love this- I'll tell you all about it another time) & HardCORE
30 min. run

Friday: Rest Day

Saturday: 5 Mile Run & UY HardCORE
