I've been quite the neglectful blogger this week, haven't I?
So let's do a little bit of catching up shall we?
When last I blogged I told you that Katie & I were on our way to
On our one and only training run together (no chance of over-training problems for Katie) we ran in the sunshine and sweated our butts off! However, race day dawned and (I'm not even kidding) we looked out the window and saw snow. We bundled up & headed to the start!
I asked a nice stranger to take this picture. Katie hates when I do this- she finds it embarrassing. I figure that if the tween is mortified, I'm doing my job.
I've known for a long time that my local runner's club is pretty awesome. But, on Saturday morning they reaffirmed that belief by having a stack of "Run for Boston" bibs ready for us.
Katie & I pinned ours proudly.
Along with the snow came quite a bit of wind. Check out the waves on Lake Erie.
Yes, that's the beautiful place where we do most of our racing. It's ok to be jealous.
We made it to the finish smiling. It wasn't a PR kind of day for either of us,
but really that's not what the morning seemed to be about.
We just enjoyed each other's company and our shared love of running.
I took the finish photo with my own long arm. Embarrassing Katie once a day is enough.
In other news, I'm still working the Fast Metabolism Diet. I love how I feel when my body is fueled by real food. Once the 28 days are over I definitely think that these foods will be the mainstays of my diet. Total weight loss so far has been 7 lbs. But, the best news is that I have lots of energy and I'm sleeping better now that I'm not fueled by gallons of Diet Pepsi.
On Phase 2 (today) I enjoyed egg whites with peppers & onions for breakfast!
I lifted weights after breakfast and then enjoyed a nice walk with Ruger.
(He's really not quite that big, he just likes being close to the lens)
So, I hope you're having a wonderful week.
How are you getting active this week? Are you making sure it's fun?
