SBBC Week 4 in Review- I Am Not A Pain

Happy Easter Weekend everyone!

Week 4 of the Spring Bootie Buster Challenge went really well.

I spent the whole week with Jillian Michaels.  That lady can really kick your flank in a short period of time, which is the kind of workout I'm craving these days.  I think I realize that I'll need to kick into half marathon training & long runs before too long so for now I'm keeping things quick & sweaty.

I spent Monday playing the piano at my day job for 4 1/2 hours.  That's 4 1/2 hours with my butt on the bench & my fingers on the keys.  I wasn't sitting on my usual bench because I was subbing for another pianist.  Her chair really did a number on my back.

So, I spent Monday night with a heating pad behind me.

On Tuesday I thought that things felt a little better.

On Wednesday I played for 4 1/2 more hours on a different bench
plus another hour in the evening.  I skipped my workout because I thought a rest day would help.

By Friday morning I admitted that I felt worse instead of better and called my favorite chiropractor.  
I spent time with her on Friday and she really had to work on me.  
I'm feeling much better (for real this time) now.

What did I learn from all this? 2 things...

1. I knew halfway through Monday that I was uncomfortable. 
I am learning to speak up and not be in pain because I'm afraid people will think I'm a pain.

2. I am also learning to call my chiropractor sooner. 'Nuff said.

Here's how my week shaped up:



Unplanned rest day due to piano injury.  That's right, I didn't hurt myself exercising, I hurt myself playing the piano. Nice.
