Fair warning: This post is bound to be pretty random since that's how I'm feeling today.
If you're not feeling random you should probably abandon this post now and read this one from Thursday when I was feeling more focused.
This week has been production week for The Little Mermaid Jr. Katie & Mandy are both involved in the production (Mandy is Flounder) so we've spent a lot of time at rehearsals.
Last night was finally Opening Night!
There really aren't words to describe the excitement level in our house last night.
Mandy could barely eat & Katie suddenly forgot how hot rollers work.
(yes honey, you have to plug them in)
All the kids in the show were fantastic- we're looking forward to a great run. I'm particularly thankful that so many people in our family, as well as our friends, have already told us that they'll be coming to the show. Do you want to support a kid in your life? It's easy, just show up. I can't tell you how much it means to them.
Meanwhile, I've been doing the South Beach Diet Phase I. I feel so much better. I've lost 3 pounds, but more importantly I'm not running around like some crazy lady inhaling sugar at every opportunity. I haven't even touched the Halloween Candy.
That's right folks- there are Reese's Cups in my house and I have not touched one.
This is unprecedented.
Instead, I roasted up a bunch of veggies last night.
No, of course they didn't taste like chocolate- let's not get crazy here. But they were delicious.
Speaking of Halloween candy, here is the best costume I saw on Wednesday.
(I told you this would be random- don't complain)
Harry Potter fans will recognize Professor Trelawney.
Mercyhurst University friends will recognize Solveig- dance teacher extraordinaire
as well as my yoga teacher.
By the way, I totally blew off my workouts on Wednesday and Thursday. I had other stuff going on and frankly, I just wasn't feeling it. So, I promised myself that no matter what, I would get back to it on Friday.
I'm pleased to tell you that I kept my promise to myself and got in the pool yesterday for 1,000 yards. As soon as I finish this post I'm going to do a little yoga and take a short run.
I'll need the energy for today- the girls have two shows.
I think it's ok to take a break sometimes as long as you make a plan to get your act back together.
I hope you all have a great Saturday!
