So, I really did go to the grocery store on Tuesday.
I bought sausage tortellini because it's Mandy's new favorite dish. I also grabbed a pork tenderloin and took it home with high homes that I would get to see this sort of thing happening on my deck.
Instead, I came home and saw this happening in my kitchen.
Um, ok. Change of plans.
The pork tenderloin went into the fridge to wait for tomorrow
and things got really gourmet around here.
I am not going to complain though, because now my kitchen looks like this.
Better, don't you agree?
But let's backtrack. Tuesday morning started with my normal smoothie.
And since we're just getting back in the groove of school, some iced coffee was required.
I knew in the morning that lunch would be sandwiched between a ballet class and my afternoon swim, so I packed a GNC Total Lean Shake.
I also had an apple in there, but I ate it before I remembered to take a picture.
Of course, you know what an apple looks like, right?
My little garden has been wonderfully productive this year.
I'm particularly proud of this eggplant. It's the first one I ever grew and I think it's just beautiful.
I'm going to roast it tomorrow with some zucchini. It's ok to be jealous.
I also need to say thanks to the nice people at GU who sent me all this stuff...
I think I should be good to go between now & the Erie Marathon on September 16th.
(I'm doing the half)
I usually try to show you some impressive food on Wednesdays. I do cook quite a bit and our family really values dinner around the table.
But, tonight other things were happening. We ate standing around the pizza box.
And guess what? That was fun, too!
I've been in a "go with it" sort of mood these days and I'm going to try and stay that way.
My family is happier when I'm not getting bent out of shape too easily.
The pork tenderloin will wait, but quality time with family doesn't have to.
