Tough Girl Points

You must do the things you think you cannot do. ~Eleanor Roosevelt

When was the last time you did something that you initially thought you couldn't or shouldn't?  At our house, if you push past your limits, you get awarded "Tough Girl Points".

The conversation usually goes like this:
Mom: I ran an extra mile this morning.
Katie: But, it's cold and windy.
Mom: I know, I went anyway.
Katie: You get Tough Girl Points for that.

Mandy got Tough Girl Points this year when she decided to do the 5K distance at the Her Times 5K instead of the kids' run.

Katie & I got Tough Girl Points last year when we did the Poker Run 5K even though there were 45 mph winds in the forecast.

We all get Tough Girl Points almost every year for showing up at the Turkey Trot in rain, snow, sleet etc.

There is no official tally of Tough Girl Points, but we all know when we're running low.  It happens when we get lazy and stop pushing ourselves beyond what we think are our limits.

We also know that Tough Girl Points make us happiest when they are awarded by someone else.  Aren't you happy when someone recognizes your effort?

What have you done lately to deserve Tough Girl Points?
Who do you know who deserves Tough Girl Points?
